Signing of order on 1st July 2009

GEA Lyophil, part of GEA Pharma Systems, has won a milestone order from the Zhejiang Hisun Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. in Taizhou Zhejiang, China for the supply of pharmaceutical freeze dryers with automatic load and unload systems (ALUS®). The order is a major breakthrough in the region allowing Hisun to expand its operations into formulated pharmaceutical products for injection focus in oncology and infective diseases.
The order was signed on 1st July 2009 at the Hisun headquarters. GEA Lyophil GmbH will supply seven freeze drying systems and five ALUS systems with a total value in excess of 15 million euro. The equipment will be used at the new facilities in the Fuyang pharmaceutical valley and will allow Hisun to focus on the production of anti-tumour, anti-infective, general biologics and anti-TB product for both the domestic and export markets. Hisun is planning to invest over 100 million euro in the Fuyang facility making it one of the biggest pharmaceutical production sites in China.
GEA Lyophil is the technology leader for pharmaceutical freeze drying and ALUS® systems; this new order will help cement its leading role in China in the future. GEA Pharma Systems already holds an established position in China with a major manufacturing facility in Shanghai and an engineering, service and after-sales structure throughout the country.
GEA Lyophil won the Hisun contract because of its technical excellence, reputation for operational reliability and proven capability of running large engineering projects for the pharmaceutical industry.
