GEA Pharma Systems will be exhibiting its inspired laboratory-scale and pilot-scale technology for the pharmaceutical processing of solid dosage and liquid steriles at TechnoPharm 2011, taking place from 11-13 October 2011 in Nürnberg, Germany.
The exhibits will include: a totally contained pilot-scale granulation system from Collette™; contained pilot-scale tablet compression from Courtoy™; the ConsiGma™-1, laboratory-scale continuous processing concept; and high-performance fermentation systems and flow metering from GEA Diessel.
Totally contained, pilot-scale granulation
There will be a complete production plant on the stand that takes the process from dispensed raw materials to finished tablet. The granulation system on show clearly demonstrates the flexibility that can be achieved throughout the process – including high shear granulation, pelletization and blending, etc. – in a totally contained environment.
Contained pilot-scale tablet compression
The Courtoy™ MODUL™ P tablet press will be a key feature on the GEA Pharma Systems stand. The MODUL™ P has been specifically designed for pilot operations and to satisfy the increased demand for flexibility and product containment when working with potent compounds. As with all MODUL™ tablet presses, the MODUL™ P features the unique Exchangeable Compression Module (ECM) that increases operator safety, reduces cleaning time by up to 50% and allows product changeover in just 30 minutes.
Continuous processing – laboratory scale
GEA Pharma Systems will be showing the ConsiGma™-1, lab-scale, continuous, high-shear granulation and drying system on the stand. The exhibition will demonstrate the efficiency of the continuous processing concept that eliminates start-up and shut-down waste, even in a laboratory environment where very small quantities of active ingredients are available.
Fermentation Systems from GEA Diessel
GEA Diessel will show a formulation vessel 100L, part of a pharmaceutical fermentation system on the GEA Pharma Systems stand.
The unit will focus on the quality of materials and engineering necessary for the long-term sterility of the process and to ensure that all the standards, statutory provisions and regulatory requirements are met.
GEA Diessel has been developing and building fermentation systems for the cultivation of micro-organisms and human or animal cells for over 20 years. Whether for individual fermenters or multi-stage fermentation systems, manufacturers trust in GEA Diessel's efficient customised plant.
GEA Pharma Systems and sister GEA Group companies - GEA Niro, GEA Tuchenhagen, GEA Barr-Rosin, GEA Liquid Processing, GEA Delbag and GEA Deichmann - are all exhibiting at TechnoPharm | Powtech 2011 on one unified GEA Group stand in hall 5, stand number 250.
