Exchangeable Die Disc - EDD
(patent pending)
The exchangeable turret of the PERFORMA™ P consists of three separate parts:
the upper punch guide, the Exchangeable Die Disc and the lower punch
guide. The same pending arm can be used to either swing the entire turret
out of the machine, or to remove just the top punch guide - clearing the
way for the tablet press operator to lift the light-weight Die
Disc out of the machine.
Benefits compared to Exchangeable Turret:
- Fast and easy format change-over: duplicate Exchangeable Die Disk (EDD)
allows off-line fitting and locking of the dies in the EDD
- Economical: only the EDD needs to be duplicated instead of the entire
turret

Exchangeable Die Shells - DS (patent pending)
The exchangeable die disk is available with conventional dies or
the innovative Exchangeable Die Shells. These thin-walled dies have a very
simple design and are available in a variety of materials.
A dedicated tool enables fast and easy installation of the Die Shells
perfectly level with the die disc surface.

Benefits
include:
- Increased output of up to 50% thanks to the higher number of punch
positions on the Die Disc.
- Increased yield thanks to the minimized thickness of the Die Shell walls
and the perfect levelling of the Die Shells with the Die Disc surface.
- Reduced tooling investment and maintenance cost thanks to the simple design
of the Die Shell.
- Low repair cost: if one die opening is damaged, only one Die Shell needs to
be replaced.

Using
just two Exchangeable Die Disks and a set of Die Shells per
product size / shape,
maximum machine output and
maximum
yield can be achieved with a minimum of capital investment. This
is a far more economical solution than duplicating the entire turret.
