The patented Wash-off-Line (WOL) concept makes WIP and CIP concepts for
tablet presses obsolete
With its Wash-off-Line (WOL) concept, Courtoy introduces a
high-containment solution that is economical, ergonomic and easy to use.
Thanks to its inherently closed design, the Exchangeable Compression Module
(ECM) concept significantly reduces the level of airborne particle
concentrations in the tablet compression room, which contributes greatly to the
protection of equipment operators and supervisors.
When highly potent or toxic formulations need to be processed, the standard
Contained ECM (C-ECM ) can be replaced by a high-containment Wash-off-line
Echangeable Compression Module (WOL-ECM).
The WOL-ECM features high-containment sealing, permanent underpressure
monitoring and automatic internal washing capability. After the WOL-ECM has
been removed from the machine, it can be connected to a washing skid in the
cleaning area. "Off-line" automatic washing offers considerable advantages over
"in-place" washing, such as
- much shorter product change-over times, when 2 WOL-ECMs are used
- a reduction of the area to clean and inspect
- savings in water and detergent consumption
- elimination of the risk of contaminating the tablet press in case of seal
failure
- possibility to use product-dedicated WOL-ECMs, eliminating any risks of
cross-contamination
- flexibility - the possibility to run non-potent products with a C-ECM
and potent products with a WOL-ECM, all on the same basic MODUL™ tablet
press.
- minimal investment cost - upgrade of a standard (i.e.
contained) MODUL™ machine to a high-containment installation only requires the
investment of a WOL-ECM.
If transfer of the WOL-ECM to a wash room for cleaning is not possible
or desirable, the WOL-ECM can also be connected to a WIP/CIP-skid inside the
compression room. The WOL-ECM is without any doubt the most flexible solution
and the most economical - both in terms of investment and utilities
consumption.
