Buck® provide highly contained materials handling systems dedicated to the pharmaceutical industry. Contained pharmaceutical powder handling and docking systems comprising of specialised split-valves (butterfly valves) Buck® Valves and disposable and flexible containment system Hicoflex®, as well as IBC Systems - Storage - Transport and Blenders.

Highly reliable protection for personnel and products

The pharma industry is continually being confronted by increasing requirements regarding the correct methods for product handling. Wherever solid material transfer takes place, then the restrictions on dust emission must be adhered to. A major aspect of these restrictions is the protection of both products and personnel during production processes in the chemical and especially the pharmaceutical industries. Restrictions apply particularly to safe transfer of potent compounds from process to process – a challenge which the equipment from Buck® comprehensively meets with the most stringent operator exposure levels with performance down to <1µg/mł.

Buck® and ISPE - SMEPAC
(Standardised Measurement of Equipment Particulate Airborne Concentration)

A guide, which was initiated by GEA Buck® and created by an international composed working group, is now published by the ISPE and is known under the name SMEPAC (Standardised Measurement of Equipment Particulate Airborne Concentration). This guide defines the test process and the test parameters always trying to stay a close a possible to the real operating conditions in the final installation. Data given by tests according the SMEPAC guide are showing a Short Term Time Weighted Average (STTWA) for a 100 % pure active material.

Hicoflex® - a low-cost, fast, flexible and disposable containment system for materials handling

A new technology from Buck® - Hicoflex® is based on the time-tested functional principle of split-valve technology but is combined with the simple locking principle of a snap ring. An example of this principle can be found in the simple spectacle case; here, just like with the split-valve technology, two complementary half-locks are docked onto each other.

Buck® Split-Valves for contained materials handling for rigid transport containers

The Buck® C, HC & UHC, TC and new MC Split-Valve systems provide ideal solutions for a broad spectrum of tasks, from customized solutions that comply with varying limits on dust emission. These technologies provide high personal and product protection during all stages of the charge and discharge process of high potent APIs as they form a dust and contamination free interface.

NEW Innovations: Buck® MC Valve

Tomorrow's technology today
The Buck® MC Valve makes the contained handling of active pharmaceutical ingredients much easier and less expensive than has been possible in the past.
Features: Only passive valves - No vacuum needed - No need for tools - Easy to clean
