13 May 2010
The seminar will focus on usability in practice, give participants the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and will include a demonstration of the latest ALUS® - Automated Load/Unload System.
The seminar will open with a description of the basics of freeze drying and the equipment involved. Optimization possibilities of a Freeze Drying process will be discussed including temperature and pressure measurement methods.
Also the seminar will cover the following topics:
- Energy Consumption and reduced turnaround times
The energy consumption of a typical pharmaceutical freeze-dryer will be analyzed in detail.
- Leak detection of Silicon Oil
Mass spectroscopy will be introduced as the most promising method to detect leaks real-time during the process.
- Design functions of Load/Unloading Systems
Aspects of reliability and flexibility to avoid downtime and quicken product changeover will be a focal point of this presentation.
- Gasket Management System
This lecture will show how to optimize maintenance activities and to increase safety and availability of the entire plant by proper gasket management.
The seminar will also include a factory tour and hands-on demonstration in the laboratory and assembly area. Mass spectroscopy will be demonstrated 'real life' on a production-scale freeze dryer. Automatic Loading and Unloading System demonstration and hands-on practice on ready-for-FAT, production-scale equipment. (Attendees will be divided into groups with maximum of 10 in each)
